DAB receiver test methods

It was being proposed that DAB receivers should carry some form of certification mark, to indicate an acceptable level of performance.  To allow such a scheme, it was necessary to develop a robust and repeatable method for receiver sensitivity testing.  This study compared the sensitivity measurements obtained using two different test methods – one using a GTEM cell and the other a Fully Anechoic Room (FAR).  The two sets of results for eight portable and table DAB receivers were found to be in very good agreement but it was noted that the performance of some of the receivers tested  was generally poor with some exhibiting serious symptoms of self-interference on some channels.
