The introduction of 5G represents a step change in telecommunications infrastructure, compared to previous generations on mobile technology. It is imperative that the pricing of spectrum takes into account the economics of 5G deployment and the need for balance between different policy objectives. In addition, a range of licensing and pricing options will be necessary to facilitate the development of new 5G use cases.
