The study undertaken with Machina Research involved a comprehensive review of M2M wireless applications for Ofcom.  The study assessed the potential implications for radio spectrum of growing demand for machine to machine (M2M) applications over the next decade.  The work covered 149 distinct M2M applications across 12 market sectors.  The analysis identified key attributes that impact on radio spectrum, grouped together applications with similar spectrum attributes and projected future traffic demand for each of the identified groupings as show below.
