Interference analysis from ECN into Cable TV

The interference analysis between base stations (BSs) of ECN (electronic communication networks) was undertaken based on the assessment of a single interference path into the victim cable TV network elements. In the analysis, the distance between the interfering BS and the victim was increased in regular steps.  At each distance, the implications of mean path loss and BS elevation antenna pattern were taken into account.  The calculated interference powers were then compared against the immunity levels of the cable TV network elements to determine the minimum distance at which the immunity is satisfied.

The following example figure illustrates the variation of filed strength at cable TV network element with distance from ECN BS transmitter.

A series of submissions were presented to an ETSI CENELEC working group to develop conditions to satisfy the Cable TV receiver immunity levels for a range of scenarios where the implications of deploying LTE cellular networks were considered.
